When is Radio no longer just radio? When the BBC gives Radio 1 its own channel on iPlayer. Radio 1 has often experimented on Youtube and other social media to engage is audience, today that expands onto iPlayer, bringing an array of video content from Radio 1’s Live Events, this include Live Lounges, a brand new chart show and other content in the future.
The change relates to the constantly changing habits of its listerners. A recent Ofcom report into children’s medi ause found that more children now have a tablet of their own than a radio. This means, to keep relevant to younger audiences content has to be made for the “now generation”, those wanting their fix on demand.
