Virgin Media and their parent company, Liberty Global have said they would be investing to bring cable to another 4 million homes and businesses. This would increase the coverage of the cable network by about a third. As part of an expansion plan set to run till 2020, this would increase the network size on top of the already existing work they are doing to fill in not-spots.
Availablity has always been the downfall of the cable networks and pushing past more properties is a step to reducing this difference between traditional phone line based internet access, and cable based connectivity.
