BT and Virgin Media have struck a three year deal to allow access to BT’s sports channels to Virgin Media’s customers.
Customers on Virgin’s XL TV package will be given access to the three sports channels for free, while those on cheaper deals can upgrade or subscribe to the extra channels for £15 a month.
The deal means that Virgin Media can now supply sports channels from both BT and BSkyB, including all the Sky Sports channels, which means that all the English Premier League games are now available through the service.
BT’s sports channels were launched earlier this month, with a reported one million households having signed up.
