In a move that appears to be Amazon setting up for a competition with Sky’s NOW TV Service, they have today made available their Channels service to UK users.
Until now, Amazon Prime has only been a catch up / video on demand service but now Amazon are taking on the subscription TV channels. Amazon Channels allow a user to pick and chose exactly what they want, no longer forcing you to subscribe to huge bundles of channels when you only want one. Prices per channel start from £1.99 per month, and range up to £7.99 per month.
To be able to use this new service, users must however already be Amazon Prime members at £79 per year.
