More HD on Freeview?

Ofcom have been suggesting that a plan to create 2 more multiplexes (10 channels) of HD bandwidth as an interim solution before a full HD switchover in 2018 could be put into action. This wouldn’t actually happen this year but could happen before the planned 2018 switchover.

The proposal and longer term plan is to free up the higher frequency bands to allow more widespread use of 4G Mobile internet technologies offering up to 70Mb mobile download speeds.

With all these systems competing over the same airspace, what will come through? Will the future see TV broadcast via the internet instead of over the airwaves doing away with TV aerials all together, its certainly more of an option with higher speed internet and more wide spread connectivity.
