Sky to Launch Ultra HD 4k TV Service in August

Sky have confirmed that their new Sky Q range of bundles will be able to benefit from Ultra HD (4k) content from August 13th, 2016. Customers who already have the Sky Q boxes will be able to enable support before the service goes live, but you will need the Sky Q Silver box, as well as a TV that supports 2160p resolution and HDCP 2.2.

So far, content that will be broadcast in 4k include 124 live Premier League games, every race in the Formula 1, 2017 season, movies and store rentals. Other entertainment including documentaries and dramams will also be broadcast in Ultra HD.
