YouView TV and Set Top Box coming to the UK in July

With the increased popularity in on demand tv content, certain providers have got to the point of having more of an advantage over others with their system included on more platforms. Prime example here, is the BBC’s iPlayer, available on many smart tv’s, tv recorders and all connected consoles.

To level the playing field, and offer a service that every content provider can use, a PVR style Set Top Box has been developed, backed by Lord Sugar, the box will plug in to your TV and internet connection and allow you view content from all current providers through one easy to use interface.

The box is set to cost £299 upfront, but will have no subsccriptions or monthly fees. It should be available later this month. More information from http://www.youview.com/
